Enterprise AI agent assurance

Put AI agent assurance into your delivery pipeline

An assurance gate links an exact agent version to an approved evaluation and a reviewable release outcome. GitHub acts as a client of the shared Gate API.

For: Platform engineers, release managers, security teams and agent delivery owners

Confirm supported coverage for your engagement. The enterprise workspace is available; integrations and private connections require technical approval. Policy imports remain a future option.

Make the release decision traceable

  1. Version-specific results

Avoid reusing evidence for a different prompt, tool set or configuration.

  2. A meaningful stop condition

Distinguish blocked outcomes from results requiring human review.

  3. Canonical evidence

Link the pipeline outcome to the authoritative assessment, not a detached log excerpt.

From candidate to reviewed outcome

  1. Register the exact version

Supply the identity and configuration boundary of the release candidate.

  2. Request an assurance gate

Reference the approved Assurance Plan and permitted environment.

  3. Run the approved evaluation

Use the same engine and criteria governing other access methods.

  4. Handle the outcome

Pass, blocked and human review require explicit downstream handling.

  5. Retrieve results

Resolve the result and follow its canonical evidence reference.

  6. Retest after material change

A later version or changed scope requires the relevant evaluation again.

Define what the pipeline should do

OutcomeResponseBoundary
PassContinue within the agreed release policy and assessed scope.A gate pass is not legal approval.
BlockedStop the governed release path and route findings to an owner.Incomplete or failed requests are not successful assessments.
Human reviewHold the decision for an authorized reviewer and record the rationale.Never silently convert review into pass.

GitHub is a client, not another evaluator

The intended Gate API coordinates assurance requests and results. A GitHub workflow invokes that process. It does not contain a separate evaluation engine, change findings or bypass required human decisions.

This is launch scope. Endpoint details, authentication, workflow events and retrieval must be confirmed for the engagement. No executable integration or example endpoint is invented here.

Prepare your integration discussion

  1. Release identity

Explain how your team identifies immutable configurations.

  2. Test boundary

Identify approved environments, test data and tool permissions.

  3. Decision owner

Define who can resolve blocked and human review outcomes.

  4. Evidence access

Specify what pipeline users may see and where canonical references should lead.

Review access before a release decision

For a release that changes permissions, use the scoped agent access review workflow to connect the permission inventory to enforcement tests and an accountable decision. The AI agent credential checklist covers issuer trust, audience, validity and revocation checks that remain distinct from the assurance outcome.

Questions about ci/cd assurance gates

Does GitHub change evaluation rules?

No. The shared Gate API and assurance engine govern criteria and evidence. GitHub is an intended client of that process.
